Six Becker Mewis Duct® ordered by Samjin

Becker Marine Systems supplies six Becker Mewis Duct® to Samjin Shipbuilding Industries for six 36,000 dwt bulk carrier newbuildings. The bulk carriers were ordered from the Antwerp-based owner Bocimar. The Becker Mewis Duct® are a part of the ship building contract to save between 4 to 7% propulsion power in various load conditions of the bulk carriers. This order is the continuation of a successful relation of Bocimar and Becker Marine Systems to increase the fleet efficiency performance. March 19, 2012

 

First order from Taiwan from U-Ming

Becker Marine Systems signed a contract with U-Ming Marine Transport Corp. to deliver 12 Becker Mewis Duct® for bulk carrier newbuildings. This is the first order from Taiwan for Becker Marine Systems. This year, two Becker Mewis Duct® will be installed on 57k bulk carriers and another two on 82k bulk carriers. In 2013 and 2014 four more Becker Mewis Duct® will be provided for 186k bulk carriers and further four Becker Mewis Duct® are scheduled for 206k bulkers. March 16, 2012
